What time is it?
In timetables etc., the twenty-four hour clock is used, so that 4 pm is seize heures. The demie and quart forms are not used with the 24-hour clock.§ Demi agrees when it follows its noun, but not when it comes before the noun to which it is hyphenated, e.g. quatre heures et demie but les demi-heures etc. Note that midi and minuit are masculine, so midi et demi and minuit et demi. -
